Founded in 2018, A Cut Above Glass Art was created to fulfill my dream.
In our society, many are constantly going about our day ticking off things on our checklists and to do lists; I include myself among these people, I packed my days with school, work, and other obligations, losing sight of what was important.
After a few devastating losses in my life I found myself shattered and trying to put myself back together, I turned to something which I had not had time to pursue for a long time, art. Nothing spoke to me anymore until I found my medium – glass. As I worked with glass, I found myself coming out of despair and feeling stuck, piecing myself together and finding new life within myself. I began to look at the world differently taking time for the little things and appreciating the beauty around me. This further fueled my passion for glass and creating my pieces.
All my pieces are hand crafted by me personally. I thoughtfully work the entire piece from designing, cutting, and assembly, to firing, slumping, and cold working. I use sheet glass, stringers, frit, and other types of glass for my pieces.
